Though in its early stages, Nigeria’s technology ecosystem shows great potential. However, as many industry analysts will tell you, that potential requires a major investment in the form of top-quality, homegrown tech talent.
To address this gap within the industry Paga, the country’s fastest growing mobile payments service is partnering with CcHUB – Nigeria’s first pre-incubation space for the co-creation of new solutions to address social problems; to facilitate the CodeCamp series for 2014.
CodeCamp is an intense all-expense paid 4-week residential training program that targets early – stage developers. The program which has been running since 2013, has already trained 16 students and early – stage developers on mobile application design and development.
Aware of the potential of harnessing technology to transform lives, Paga is a main sponsor for 2014 CodeCamp edition which will focus on front-end web development and the android mobile platform. Using a blend of facilitator-led, classroom-style training sessions and online tools, participants will be exposed to cutting-edge tools and technology to learn best design practices for building web and mobile applications. The program will also consist of a 3-month internship where participants will be placed with sponsoring organizations and CcHUB – supported startups.
